Book Review: Queen of Shadows

“She was fire, and light, and ash, and embers. She was Aelin Fireheart, and she bowed for no one and nothing, save the crown that was hers by blood and survival and triumph.”

A book filled with possible romances, budding friendships and lots of action.

SYNOPSIS

Everyone Celaena Sardothien loves has been taken from her. But she’s at last returned to the empire—for vengeance, to rescue her once-glorious kingdom, and to confront the shadows of her past…

She has embraced her identity as Aelin Galathynius, Queen of Terrasen. But before she can reclaim her throne, she must fight.

She will fight for her cousin, a warrior prepared to die for her. She will fight for her friend, a young man trapped in an unspeakable prison. And she will fight for her people, enslaved to a brutal king and awaiting their lost queen’s triumphant return.

REVIEW

This book is the base for the entire Throne of Glass series. as well as all the major relationships. I am absolutely in love with Rowan. I had to give the book my complete attention because it felt like if I missed a word I would miss something major.

The plot was very interesting and Rowan and Aelin's relationship development was amazing. All their little flirty moments were hilarious.

All the new characters had kind of their own story going on but I never felt like skipping any. The buildup was amazing. I could not wait to complete the book and move on to the next one. This is genuinely one of my favourite series.

My Rating: 4.2/5

Author: Sarah J. Maas
