Book Review : Throne of Glass

“Libraries were full of ideas—perhaps the most dangerous and powerful of all weapons.”

SYNOPSIS

Celaena Sardothien is an assassin who has been enslaved in the salt mines of Endovier.

She received an unexpected shot at freedom when the prince of Adarlan comes with a proposition.                                                                        Participate in a competition being held by the king to decide his prized champion. If she wins she can serve out her term and then walk free.

However evil is lurking behind the walls of the palace, killing off each participant one by one. Now, she not only had to defeat the contestants but also save herself and possibly all others in the country.

REVIEW

Celaena is an amazingly well written character, with her witty remarks, bravery, charm and a carefree aura. As an assassin you would expect her to be cold and ruthless, but she is kind and helping to those she cares about. Her relationship with Prince Dorian and Captain Guard Chaol was also quite enjoyable.

The story was extremely well paced and perfectly detailed at the same time. The character relations were quite hilarious and fun. Unlike other series as the plot develops, the books get more interesting which is one of the best things about the series.

I completed the entire series in less than  a month because I just couldn't put it down.  All in all, if you love a story with a strong, independent female character who has a winning personality, amazingly good looks and reads books this is the perfect choice.
